Council of Advisory Teens
(C.A.T.S.)

Would you like to help decide which books, games and other resources the Library should buy? Do you want to help with program suggestions? Have you got great ideas for book displays? Would you like to get involved in developing content for our website?

If you are between 13 and 18 years old, join our teen advisory council that meets once a month to work on projects that will help shape the programs and services offered to youth by the Newmarket Public Library.

This is a great opportunity to get together with your peers, contribute to the development of library services for teens, and have fun.

Reading Buddies
If you’re 14 years of age or older and would like to help provide reading encouragement to children in grades 1-4, then this program is for you.

In the Reading Buddies program you will work with a child to improve their reading abilities by reading with them and doing language-based activities.

Each session is an hour long and takes place once a week for 10 weeks in the Children’s Department on the second floor.

Successful applicants will be given suitable training and must commit to the entire 10 weeks.
