Reading Buddies is a literacy-based program that pairs children in need of reading encouragement with volunteer mentors from the community.  Children and mentors will meet 1 hour each week for up to 10 weeks. 

Interested Buddies (children, grades 1-4) and Mentors (Teens 14+ or adults) are invited to fill out an application form and drop it off at the information desk in the Chidlren's Department.  (Pre-printed forms are also available.)  If you have questions, please feel free to call us at 905-953-5105

Sessions happen three times a year: Winter, Spring, and Fall.

Please drop off your application well in advance to get into the next session!

 This is an ongoing program and we are always looking for interested mentors and reading buddies.  We try our best to match for all applicants, but sometimes opportunities are limited and we regret we may not find matches for everyone immediately.  If we cannot match a mentor or buddy, we keep their application on file for possible matches with future Reading Buddies Sessions.  

The Spring session begins mid-April.
